Sanctuary provides a sanctuary
for Worcester charity

Worcester-based housing and care provider Sanctuary has stepped in to provide accessible office space for a city charity.

Worcester Community Action was looking for a new base due to problems with accessibility to their previous first-floor office in the city.

Sanctuary’s Group Chief Executive, Craig Moule, heard about their situation from founder and Chief Officer Sally Ellison and kindly offered them a more accessible place to work.

The charity will be using the ground floor office in Sanctuary’s campus at Chamber Court, Castle Street, for the next 12 months at a peppercorn rent.

Craig Moule said: “Worcester Community Action does tremendous work supporting the voluntary sector in Worcester, so I was delighted to be able to offer them space on our site.

“It’s a charity which fits strongly with our values. We’re committed to being an inclusive organisation with a strong focus on accessibility, for our customers and colleagues. We also firmly believe in supporting the communities where we are based and encourage our colleagues to take part in volunteering days each year with local organisations.”

Sally Ellison added: “Sadly I could no longer access our first-floor office, and we were in desperate need of a new home. I told Craig about the problem and was thrilled when he came up with this solution.

“I’d like to thank Craig and Sanctuary for their help. We are a small charity, although we punch above our weight, and I don’t know how we would have managed without this support.”

Worcester Community Action provides policies, advice and networking opportunities for the local voluntary and community sector. It also recruits volunteers on behalf of other charities.
