Services
WCA offers a range of services to support groups to be sustainable and to provide excellent community services. We tailor the service we offer to the needs of a particular group. Advice can be given over the phone or in person, through workshops, or by visiting members of a group in their locality. Some examples of the services which can be provided include:
Safeguarding – advice and guidance on Safeguarding and Child Protection. This may include awareness-raising of the issues involved for volunteers and vulnerable children/adults; resources and information for writing a Safeguarding Policy.
Processes around DBS checks – checks can be organised simply and efficiently through WCA and volunteers will be encouraged to subscribe to the DBS online Update Service.

Signposting – WCA has many years of experience of working with a vast number of organisations in the city and will signpost individuals and/or groups to organisations, charities, foundations or community groups as appropriate.
Links – WCA has links with many organisations across the city and the county with which local groups can be connected for additional support
Insurance advice – WCA offers advice and guidance on what sort of activities should be covered by insurance eg use of private cars for transporting elderly people to hospital appointments
Financial advice – WCA offers advice and guidance about paying expenses to volunteers. WCA can hold funds for groups if necessary, providing a transparent service.
Guidance and advice on setting up specific activities eg a youth group
Fundraising – WCA has proven experience in writing successful fundraising applications. WCA will provide hands-on support to groups with securing funds. See below for further details.

Funding
How it works
You, your staff, volunteers and supporters can all raise free donations for your organisation simply by shopping online with all their favourite retailers. All you need to do is start your shopping journey at the easyfundraising website or app and the retailer you shop with will send your organisation a donation based on how much you spend. This will not cost you anything extra as the retailer pays the donation, not the shopper.
There are over 5,000 stores involved, including John Lewis, M&S, eBay, Amazon, Trainline, Booking.com, Groupon, and more.
Every 3 months your organisation receives all the donations raised by your supporters, which you can put towards a particular project; or keep for a rainy day. These are unrestricted funds so you can use them as you wish.
It is a simple and effective way of generating a steady stream of income throughout the year, which can complement your existing fundraising efforts and can run in the background while you concentrate on your day-to-day tasks.
How to get started
- Register your organisation here. It takes only a few minutes and there is no cost involved
- Book a free support call with the friendly easyfundraising team to learn how to use easyfundraising to its full potential
- Encourage staff, volunteers and supporters to support your organisation when they shop online
