Showground volunteers
We have a one-off opportunity for July 6th where more volunteers are needed. This very popular country show, which is a showcase for farming, the countryside and rural life, takes place only 25 minutes from Worcester. They ask their volunteers to work half a day, times vary a little depending on the area of the Show that you show an interest in, but generally 8am until 12.30pm or 12.30 onwards. If the afternoon shift is a particularly long one, this is split so maybe 12.30 until 3.30 and 3.30 until 6pm. Volunteers should be prepared to be outdoors and be suitably attired to cope with weather conditions on
the day and to be on a grass field whilst giving a good impression to the Shows visitors. There are no vehicles on the Showground during opening times. In the Livestock and Horse sections, volunteers should be familiar and confident with the animals concerned. In other areas, common sense, and an ability to communicate with competitors, exhibitors and the General Public are the main requirements, again, depending on the Section. All stewards are briefed on the evening of July 1st at the Showground, will be issued with a Job Description and Stewards Manual and will be supported on the day by the Senior Steward on their Section, fellow stewards as well as Event Control. If you can help, please contact us to find out how to get involved.
