Independent Prison Monitors
Would you like to help undertake monitoring whether prisoners are being treated fairly and humanely and whether they are being given the support they need to turn their lives around? Independent monitors are the ‘eyes and ears’ of the public and can make a huge difference to the lives of those held in prison. You could be talking to a prisoner who’s worried or vulnerable, who isn’t able to access the support they need or who needs help to sort out some practical problems. You don’t need any specific qualifications, your values are more important. Full training and support is provided and you’d be asked to make 2 – 3 visits per month. If you’re interested in this opportunity, then contact us for more details.
